If you're looking at it from a definitional standpoint, both are equal. Liberals want to give social freedoms but not economic, and conservatives want to give economic freedoms but not social.

intolerant
One entry found.
intolerant
Main Entry: in·tol·er·ant
Pronunciation: \-rÉnt\
Function: adjective
Date: circa 1735
1: unable or unwilling to endure
2 a: unwilling to grant equal freedom of expression especially in religious matters b: unwilling to grant or share social, political, or professional rights : bigoted
3: exhibiting physiological intolerance
— in·tol·er·ant·ly adverb
— in·tol·er·ant·ness noun
I notice that you skipped the first and third definition because they didn't fit your agenda. So I guess intolerance is bad but manipulation is okay?
Liberals are intolerant of people of faith. Fits your coveted defintiion 2 pretty well. Sometimes the weapon of choice for a liberal to oppress people of faith is calling them intolerant.

Thank you for your question!!! I admire a person who researches words, origions and history. I post answers sometimes and try to get others to look up words they see every day, and use without knowing the real meaning. Like .. Republic and Democracy, and they just don't seem to get it.
So I would answer your question .... ( after looking up the words, thank you for doing the work for me)

At least in recent years, liberals have been far more intolerant. Look at the universities where conservative speakers have been shouted off the stage and physically assaulted by the liberals on campus. The liberal left tends to engage in ad hominem attacks to "prove" their point. One rarely sees that with conservatives except for Ann Coulter.

Conservatives get painted as intolerant because of their disliking of the homosexual agenda, but when conservatives raise doubts of global warming, they get their house burned to the ground by hippies....

Depends on what you want to tolerate. Conservatives are more tolerant of things like guns, Christianity, and the military. Liberals are more tolerant of homosexuality, abortion, and tree huggers. They are therefore intolerant of that which the other will tolerate.

Cons are more tolerant !
Libs may preach tolerance, but the second anyone should disagree with them they love to use labels such as facist, homo-phobe, and racist. If you need proof go to an anti-war rally and say you support the troops and you'll see first hand how tolerant the libs are.

They are as bad as each other. And those here who deny it are just blinding themselves to the truth. And proving the point by their intolerance in their answers.

Liberals. The political correctness crowd was created by Liberals. They want to decide what speech is appropriate. And in matters of religion, Liberals don't want religion, specifically Christian religions, anywhere in their sight.

Cons. Libs invented tolerance. Cons hate it...evidenced by not eschewing diplomacy, blaming the poor for their plight, and the hatred for the ACLU, as well as the dems. They would just as soon have no balance in govt, and often think bipartisanship is doing what the president says. I get this info from asking questions here, so maybe it isn't representative of the entire population, but it is representative of here
