Mine has to be ff 7 hands down. Everything about that game is great. The graphics may be outdated, but is my fav. one of all 12 of them. Which ones do you like?

My favorite has to be FF6, which is also FF3 on the snes. Great game, beautiful story and awesome characters. I still play that game every now and then. Tons of replay value. FF8 would probably be my second favorite..

The one that was released as Final Fantasy III for the SNES. It had a great story, and great graphics for the day. Later I bought FF on the PS1 and was disappointed. Haven't liked any FF since. None compare to the fun, tension and drama of that old game.

A true final fantasy fan would say 7. Without a doubt. I've never played one that I didn't like though and I own every last one of em except for the imports. Even the spinoffs and non series FF titles.

I haven't managed to get my greedy little mitts on 12 yet, so the jury's still out on that one. I know where you're coming from in regards to 7, but I think 8 edges above. The predecessors were a bit too simple, and none of the following releases managed to get the mix as perfect as Squall's epic.

12. Hands down. But 2 was really great too.
7 was good. Kind of doesn't need to be said though.....everyone's favorite is 7.

FFXII (12) was incredible. I put in nearly 200 hours on the game. Though about 10 hours was just defeating one boss who had millions and millions of hit points.
FFVIII (8) would be next on my list. I don't know why that game gets so overlooked, but I absolutely loved it.
Well, I love all of them. Those above just stand out for me.
