Hartlepool and Walsall and Milton Keynes Dons are the three in automatic promotion position right now. I live in Peterborough. It is fun to see the games if you go with the mindset you won't be seeing Arsenal or Chelsea type quality on the field.

It's all about Civic pride, i.e. following your local team. My local teams when I was a child were Workington F. C., then in Football League Division Four (now known as League Two) and Carlisle United, then in Football League Division 2 (now known as the Coka Cola Championship).

They were the only football clubs that I'd heard about at the time. Fortunately for me, my Dad's brother (my uncle) took me along to watch Carlisle United Vs Middlesbrough, when I was aged about 7; otherwise, I might have had to make do with Match of the Day leftovers, and ended up supporting a glamour club like Liverpool or Man United, like all the other philistines. That's if, I developed an interest in football at all.

It's just television hype that makes you believe Premier League football is worthwhile and everything else is substandard.

Carlisle United forever, whatever league they might be in.

It is somewhat more exciting because the clubs usually do not have much cash, and can only buy players who may not be as good. But these players know that through sheer hard work and grit, they can guide their teams to success.

Some of the better teams in League Two I suppose are Bury, Wycombe, Walsall, and Grimsby. Darlington is decent, but have been somewhat ruined by their free-spending ex-chairman (who is now in jail by the way)
