Just continue to smile and show your graciousness. Your courtesy may not be returned by the person you directed it to, but it may effect someone who witnesses your kind deed. Kindness CAN be infectious! And, even though the person doesn't seem to initially appreciate your gesture, it very well might effect them (positively) upon reflection.

Every good gets negative reaction from dis-hearted people. It is not a punishment gone awry....it is their reflection of their life. Keep smiling, keep saying hello, how are you and in some , maybe small, way you have bettered this earth by sharing yourself. Don't ever give up!

You must empathize. Their behavior may not be warranted for interaction with you, but someone who would react like that has obviously had a painful history and acknowledging that possibility, that they are hurt and/or delusional, will make you more aware of them as a person. If you can see that, then you can empathize and react accordingly.

If you could buy people like that for what they are really worth and sell them for what they thought they were worth, you'd be very rich. Just keep being nice, there's always someone that needs your smile, don't let people like that get you down. They are not happy and they don't want anybody else to be.

First, it probably isn't you. The person may be having a bad day. You were gracious, let it go and get on with your day. Don't obsess about others bad behaviour
