is it possible to slow down the melting of ice? if yes, how?

Remove Heat. Just kidding.

If you first freeze the ice under high pressure it will be denser and therefore melt slower. Also, if you were to surround it with a really good insulator like silica aerogel it would reduce the amount of heat transference to the ice.

By covering it with a layer of salt .this method is used by barf ke gole wala . They wash it & use whenever required.
