pop the keys off of it and wash it with adamp cloth and mild soap.
and rise it off with a damp cloth. this will not hurt your keyboard as long as you do not submerge it in water.
after cleaning it put the keys back on I suggest that you have a system to allow you put them in the right place .

First - unplug it fast so nothing shorts out.

Now, decide if you want to get a new one or clean this one. Keyboards are pretty cheap these days, so consider gettting a new one.

If however you want to try to clean it, they are pretty easy to clean.

Flip it over and remove all the screws holding it together. Now open it up and you will see that aside from the keys and case, the keyboard is basically two very thin pieces of plastic and an even thinner circuit board in the middle.

Gently pull eveything apart and wash it down and dry completely. You can even dunk everything right in the sink if you want to, as long as you have seperated those plastic films around the circuits.

Check to see if there are any spots on the circuits that are burnt out - you can easily spot any that are. If so, toss it, if not. just make sure its all dry and put back together.

You might be able to clean it *if* you wash it with water then wash it with distilled water (NOT deionised... that may have non-ionic solids in) and then dry it for a looong time in an airing cupboard / on top of a radiator.

Otherwise buy a new keyboard... $5/£5.

And get a keyboard cover if you're going to slop your food over it. One of those nive formed clear vinyl ones that keep gack out from the keys.

Replace the keyboard, or just use the one you're using now. The one you dumped the shake over can't be repaired or cleaned - it's toast. Luckily, replacements are not all that expensive.

Yes, i agree, buy a new keyboard. I would say unplug it, rinse it and dry it out...but I don't know how good water would be for the keyboard. Plus if you DON'T rinse it, it will be forever sticky! Yuck!! Sorry!

you're pretty much screwed. Unless you cleaned up your keyboard within a couple of minutes, you probably need a new keyboard.

Buy a new one. I have. Spilled wine on mine. 10 bucks are about what a new one cost.
