I can't get it to stand up. I've used gel and hairspray. Any advice ?

Use wax to keep it standing up. I always used "Pomade". I put a link below for the product that I have used for about ten years now. A very little bit on your fingers and rubbed thru your hair will keep it standing up for weeks. I will admit that it does take effort to wash the "Pomade" out of your hair at the end of the day due to the wax like constance, but it is well worth it for the style that it gives you all day. "Pomade" will stay in your hair all day with out "sweating out" much like hairspray and gel does.

the next time you get a hair cut tell them what your trying to do and watch them style it , ask them what they are doing and using to achieve that effect. i use gel and turn my head kinda upside down and use a blow dryer and then i hairspray it when its like that..
