Often time items such as tools or equipment are covered, for example a lawn mower or an air compressor, Did your ATV have a practical use(( Wink ,Wink ,Nudge, Nudge)) if it had a use and was a tool or equip. you may have some coverage.

Some of the answers here are good, others are not. No homeowners policy covers motorized vehicles. The items in your garage are covered except things that are motorized. The only real exceptions to that are lawn mowers, snow blowers, lawn tractors. You can get coverage under your homeowners for liability it the ATV is used on your premises.

There are no companies out there that would insure an ATV on your homeowners policy automatically. Some will let you add it on for an additional premium.

You should have checked with your agent when you purchased it if you needed insurance.

Depends on how the atvs are looked at. You should have coverage under personal property for theft. In some states they need to be covered by a seperate policy similary to a motorcycle policy. If this is on your property or property to rent you may have some extension for property, It may only be 10% of your total value or $5000. Talk with your agent to be sure. You will be subject to your deductible. Also be sure to file a police report. This will show that you are acting in good faith. Good Luck and sorry to hear about your loss.

No, they won't be covered. State Farm has a specific policy for 4 wheelers. The only motor vehicles covered are things used to service the property, like a tractor.

Many people who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina got nothing from State Farm. Their neighbors who had other insurance co. may not have got all they wanted, but at least they got something. State Farm is just a bad insurer. They take your money for years until you have a claim, and then they refuse to cover your loss. I saw all of this on a doc. on msnbc last week. I will never buy state farm insurance.

Yup,registered vehicles(OHRV)need separate policies, just like your car.I did have one stolen for a joy ride by a local punk.He was caught, found guilty and got 3.5-7 YEARS in state prison.Sweet justice, also recovered the atv and he has to pay full restitution, down to the gas in the tank he used, for damages.Lesson..dont steal the same toys the local cops play with, they took this personal

Speak to your agent and ask him for the number of your states insurance commissioner. Just doing that will often get results. If your agent said you were covered then make it clear you will file a complaint with the commissioner and/or take legal action.

Homeowners policies dont cover ATV's, Snowmobiles, CARS...
You need to take out a separate policy for it. I dont think there is a company out there that offers theft coverage for motor vehicles.
Sorry for your loss.
