First answer ---Not nearly enough.

Second answer-- They don't know and they don't care. Insurgent deaths don't fit their agenda. It's like the Walter Reed story. The same condidtions have existed for decades but the story was of no use to them THEN.

They have it in the news every so often that a 'group' of insurgents were killed. But you're right, they don't keep a running tally like they do with the death of our soldiers. Chalk it up to having a liberal press.

NPR actually describes the deaths by breaking them into categories, including, Iraqi insurgents, or, combatants, so does the Washington Post, and, so does the New York Times.

The military doesn't even know that one.The insurgents have a habit of dragging away their dead.

It's a classic guerrilla tactic. If the enemy doesn't know how many he's killed,he can't really know how many troops you have.

We fell into that trap in Vietnam. They would count blood trails and abandoned equipment and derive estimates from them that then became "hard "numbersThe military nowadays won't give numbers of enemy dead unless they're extremely confident of them.

Not enough. The true insurgent force isn't even Iraq, it's Iranian and Sudanese and Saudi. The locals are all followers out of stupidity or threat of death.

Not enough. People who would target and bomb their own countrymen, women and children don't deserve to live.
