Today's teenagers feel "entitled". Most have been spoiled rotten by their parents and don't know the value of a dollar. They feel entitled to have things they can't afford and when something is not produced right now this second they have a cow about it.
Their english is horrendous and they spend more time trying to get out of doing something than it would take to do it.
I blame the parents who did not take the time to teach them good morals and values. The parents are probably too busy accumulating massive debt to be able to live in their McMansion and keep up with the Joneses.

Being an old duffer, I can truly say that the younger generation does
less work, spends more money, and commit more crimes than
the youth in generations past. However, we live in a much different
world (for good or bad) than in the past, which has an influence
on all of our behavior. Sorry to say as a teenie bopper my dear
departed Grandmother would have rolled over in her grave with
some of my "innocent" shinanigans. It goes both ways, teens
are doing all the bad stuff you've quoted (some teens), but by same
respect, todays teens, as a rule, are some of the finest, most
intelligent young folks of any generation. With Gods guidance
they have in their hands the power to clean up a lot of the mess
their predesessors have created.

We have the same mindset as generations past, but we have other things to want. Every teenage generation were bad drivers, obsessed over clothes and the opposite sex, and got into trouble, that's what teens DO. We have more technology, hence the onset of chatspeak. I think all the bad things are just being reported more, there are a lot of good kids out there, but the good ones hardly make a good story.
Same teens, different times, simple as that.

I think that they are more lazy and spoiled than years past. Years ago, the entire family pitched in to ensure that things ran smoothly. Kids were put to work to help support the family, whether it was doing farm chores or working for the local grocer.
Now, parents buy their kids cell phones, cars, pay for their insurance, buy them designer label clothes, etc. When I was a teen, I had to earn everything I wanted. I was not allowed to have a car unless I had a job, paid for the car AND had to pay my own insurance. If something happened to my car, my parents would not lend me the money to repair it. I had to either walk or take the bus until I was able to save enough to fix it. I don't see that anymore.
What happened to the old days?

teenagers are more stupid and lazy than past generations because of their LAME parents and society's standards!
Everything is for convience now.
but here's how today's youth can accomplish their goal in life:
"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ
Create a private, personal, direct, divine relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truely Free!
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!

I think teenagers will universally do as much as they can get away with. I blame the parents and the society that makes it illegal to punish your kid.
