Totally toddler is a stain remover kind of like Shout but it gets anything out. You can buy it at K-mart (in the same aisle as the diapers) or at Babies R Us. It has never let me down.

Baby formula stains are hard to remove because of the protein content kind of like blood. The best removal results occur when you use peroxide and a brush, i.e. toothbrush to gently remove the stain. Assuming that your concern is with fabrics that are colorfast, it's safe to use this method after soaking the article in cold water. If it's not colorfast try a little diluted vinegar.

Once they are there, all you can do is bleach the clothes.
But if you learn this little tip now, you will NEVER have to deal with formula stains again (qualification--I'm talking about milk-based formula; my understanding is that soy-based is much harder to keep clean). Anyhow, for seven babies now I have always used "spray & wash" or "shout" as soon as I remove the clothes from baby that day. I leave it overnight and put it in the next day's laundry load. I have never "lost" an outfit to formula stains with this method. Use the spray liberally.

My daughter used to spit up 20-30 times a day, and I just sprayed everything with Shout before tossing it in the washer. Nothing ended up stained, not even the bibs!
