The first thing I do is to have a look at this person's profile and friends' list. Most of them don't bother to write a personal message to send with the invitation, and I have no idea how they found me, so I have to see if any of my friends is at their list, and what kind of people they are connected to. I read all the information I can find at their pages, including the blogs, when they are open.
If I already know the person from my friends' pages and like her/him, I accept the invitation. If not, I give myself some time to think and decide if I'll accept or not.
Lately, I've been refusing invitations from people who, although apparently nice, are too young, or don't have much in common with me. I don't have much time, and want to dedicate which I have to the persons I want to build a long lasting relationship with. :)

Half of those tards are spammers, sometimes by responding to them, you give them access to your account and thats why your friends would prolly say "hey, why you sending me crazy messages?" ..
It is however a good way to socialize or network with people but you can get caught up with myspace loop, its like a high game all over again. People are factuated with themselves.. haha
If for whatever reason you happen to be on the mainstreams (artist, photographer, graphics design etc etc, ) then you can get popular through myspace.

If you wanna make someone as your friend then obviously for that you would need to know about that person.. and for that you would have to talk to him/her.. its a good way to make new friends..but yes..one should always be cautious while talking to some stranger..in this world if there are bad people then there are good people also..so its quite possible that you meet someone who could be your best friend in future...you never know what future beholds for you...so just be cautious and try to make some good friends...Best of Luck...!!!!!!!!!

Most of the time I suspect some scam (hackers, or someone trying to sell you some junk), so I check their profile and decide from there, later if I see something weird they get deleted; Anonymous, blocked, incomplete, or too good to be true profiles are rejected immediately.

my first instinct is to check their profile, or to send them back a message.
if the profile seems cool, I send a message, if after chatting for a bit I generally enjoy the chat I add them.
if I don;t like the vibe I get from the profile, I disapprove...
or if the chat doesn't continue, or is plain not nice, I disapprove...

I have had several people write and ask to be my friend and I never knew what that meant.
What exactly does it mean?
Love and blessings Don

Insomuch as men, my age, are not typically prey, (www speaking), I’ll allow, look at their profile, and then decide.

I'd allow...unless he's a real danger.
