I would definitely keep the yard mowed short and the debri to a minimum. But I've also heard the copperheads especially seem to be attracted to old metal debri. Like old cars or parts. So if you have anything like that in your yard, it would probably be a good idea to clear it out. A few good cats would probably help, but they also might kill all the snake-eating snakes, so its up to you.

I understand that snakes are repelled by the smell of marigolds. I don't know how effective this is but I read it in a column by a professional landscaper. I myself would move! Good luck--

Keep a clean yard as alreay mentioned, no underbrush. Also there are snake repellents on the market, I have no experience with them.

You can keep your lawn mowed. Most snakes wont cross a bare field in fear of being seen by a preditor. Mowing wont keep them all out but it will help reduce the number you find.

there aint any snake proof product out there. if they want in, they will get in.

you can try moth balls but i would sujest a product that has been around for years and works every time its called a rifle and being a good shot
