How do I write a 5 page research paper ?

I have to write a 5 page research paper on the causes of the civil war .. can anyone tell me how to write it .. the most description or the one who helps the most will get best answer ! by the way i am in 10th grade so it has to be 10th grade quality lol .. well Thank you in advance ..

2. Skim magazine and journal articles, chapters in books, outlines of books, articles in reference books. (If your topic can be located in an encyclopedia, begin with the encyclopedia.)
3 Prepare bibliography (source) cards using index cards . This will help you keep track of your sources. Write down the title, author and library call number. Follow the MLA or APA guide (consult your teacher).
4.. Select your best sources from which to take your notes.
5. Prepare a "working" or tentative outline ( i.e. one subject to many changes.) The outline may be
a topical or a sentence outline.
6 Prepare notes on note cards, Remember:write the topic on each card
should match a topic on the outline.
7 Revise your outline. Topical points may be rewritten as complete sentences.
8. Write a thesis sentence to control the focus of your paper.
9 Write the first draft of your paper following the outline closely. Remember to give credit to your sources using the MLA or APA guide.
10 Proofread and edit the rough draft.
11. Write the final draft and type in according to teacher's specifications.
12. Don't wait until the last minute, give yourself plenty of time!

Scan through them and pick out a paragraph or so from each which deal with the question you are trying to answer in your research paper. Cite the book, page and paragraph in your foot notes.
