as the 1st article puts it so nicely: if you want the best performance, wait a bit >;)
btw: ATI due to its collaboration in the Xbox, was also involved in the vista development whereas NVidia had only OEM access to the code.
personally, i run both a NV6800 and a R9800XT in Vista and whereas the Radeon was working kind of okay, the NV wasn't even crawling.
if you want max compatibility and performance in Vista, you are best advised to wait a few more weeks and get your hands on a ATI with the R600 chip.

Short answer : no


Long answer: the only OS that will use DX10 is vista. Vista only has Nvidia graphics drivers. ATI will not have a DX10 card out for awhile.

No, nvidia has there 8800 series that supports DX10
