What alternate universe do YOU live in?????????

Depending on your definition of civilized I would have to disagree. I preface being civilized to the level of advancement in their civilization. That advancement was primarily hindered by Saddam through his withholding of funds for public works. The houses where often mud huts or tattered old buildings. They work primarily basal jobs. The country has virtually no technology. Most of them prior to our deposing Saddam had never traveled from their small fishing village or town in their whole life.
The beauty of the country is that these people have survived. I saw what conditions they were faced with and I saw that some of them were still proud, the children still smiled. See this was a real wakeup call to why I was fighting over there. These people deserve freedom, they deserve to be protected. If you had ever had your boot in the sand and seen this in person, if you knew the support hat our troops are providing to the people - you would know that our mission is just. But you haven't, you don't - you can't see what the media won't show you.

So when are the libocrats going to realize that they are just standing in the way of those who wish to help the Iraqis?

Who says we don't? It's the terrorists that are totally UNcivilized and ugly...at least on the inside. The vast majority of Iraqis do not fall into that category.

We do recognize this! Do you think they have had the freedom for the last 40 years to demonstrate this? That's just the reason why we are there ... to make certain their freedom is there for them!

i realize that. some just aren't civilized enough not to buy into a doctrine of hate that panders to a sick sense of pride and honor to motivate them to kill themselves and others instead of acting like you care about your family, community, and country.

If Republicans ended the war they would lose a big chunk of their income. This is especially true of Dick Cheney. Remember Haliburton!
