How do they connect wires at the top of pilons? You konw the ones that birds sit on that go over our heads?

Do they shoot the wires across? or are they ready made? or is there a special machine that does it all in one go?

They hook on at their starting point and drive a truck with a large wheel of wire on it to get the slack out They can also anchor the line in taunt at each pole and go again without making a cut.
