Maybe, maybe not. Put your curser on the area just below the blue band at the top of your screen. Right click. Look to see if "address bar" is checked. If not put your curser on it and left click.

Your address bar should reappear.

I wouldnt go so far as to jump into calling this a virus. It may, however, be an adware/spyware trick to keep you from navigating away from advertisements.

Most likely an Internet Explorer add-on that was installed (or just an accidental click of the mouse) turned off the viewing option for that bar.

To turn it back on:
In Internet Explorer 6
1. click on the view menu and then highlight "toolbars" to expand the options.
2. Due to add-ons and/or your PC manufacturer sticking their nose into things, the Address bar your looking for may be called the "navigation bar" or "explore bar". The name should be similar to that.

In Internet Explorer 7:
1. RIGHT click on the grey menu area at the top of your screen (any place that doesnt have a button on it will work) and select your missing bar from the drop down menu.

In any case, I would download and run ad-ware by Lavasoft. Also, scanning for viruses and malware on a regular basis never hurts.

I assume you are using Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer. Try this:
Click View from any of these browsers, click toolbars, and see if the Address Bar is checked. Check it if it's not. Your address bar will show up in no time, if your PC is clean.

It is not a virus. It is a glitch with IE explorer. Go to the microsoft web site and do a search for missing address bar. You will find the instructions fo fix it.
