She said John Edwards is a "charlatan who plays to illiterate juries" on Hannity and Colmes.

Anybody here ever done jury service? Are you illiterate? If not, are you offended by her insinuation that average Americans who serve on juries are all stupid?

The question is directed to the answerers. It is a statement she made which was passively ignored by her interviewers as well as the other guest (some Democrat who just smiled and nodded). I suppose it is fair game to call politicians and celebrities names, but isn't it a little too provocative to start hurling insults at ordinary Americans? Call a juror illiterate; say soldiers in Iraq are too dumb to get into college - it is the same thing to me. And, no, I don't think Kerry botched his joke - I think he honestly believes that our fighting forces mainly consist of people with no scholastic future.

At least some of you "get it".

Lastly, jury duty is a civic duty - like voting. People who actively avoid jury service when called are akin to those who actively avoid military service when called.

No, I am not offended by Ann Coulter's statements. And I do agree that lawyers are out of control. John Edwards won millions of dollars off just one case about 20 years ago and I think he pocketed 20 -30 million. He says Christ would be mad at America's greed. He ought to look in a mirror.

im not offended by ann coulter because the illiterate juries are her own fans - the millions of people who are too ignorant to see through her lies and deceit. ignorance and stupidity is what offends me. it offends me when people don't research the candidates they vote for. if people did even a small amount of research of gw bush, they would know he's a failed businessman who relies on daddy's connections to bail him out of those failed business ventures. this is before he got into politics. but politics is the only place where you can gain success because 9/10 times the general population will be more ignorant and small minded than you. this is the reason people can vote for a guy like Marion Barry - a genuine crackhead.

no, ann coulter doesn't mean a thing in the long run. it's this ignorant, lazy, and spineless population in the USA that offends me the most. they are the ones that give ann coulter the power she has today.

hopefully the people will redeem themselves in future elections. this nation will not survive with those same illiterate juries voting. they are the ones destroying this nation.

Yes, I have served on juries. Jurors are not illiterate but many are gullible. If you have a "pretty boy" defense attorney who uses compassion and guilt in front of a gullible jury, you get the kind of settlements that made John Edwards wealthy. It's not about right , it's about winning. He is a charlatan and Ann is right to expose him as such.
By the way, it's good to see you exposed as an angry, liberal malcontent that you are.Funny, all you have to do is detect the anger in folks like you to know your politics.

No. Just the ones who can't get out of jury duty! Just kidding. I've sat on a jury, but the old joke is, "You're not tried by a jury of your peers, you're tried by a jury of 12 people who were too stupid to get out of jury duty..." Then again, before being too insulted about her illiteracy comments, have you checked the literacy rate in the U.S.? Have you seen some of the questions and answers on Answers?

People who have a life avoid jury duty. What sane person would take days out of their life for a paltry 20$ a day and listen to the crap emanating from high priced mouth pieces. In civil cases such as the ones Edwards specializes in the average juror sees themselves as a person with the ability to send a message, stick it to the man, make a difference, with a sense of self importance way out of proportion to the life they lead. How else would you explain multi-millions dollar settlements against the tobacco industry when for over 50 years people have known smoking is bad for you. Edwards has made millions suing doctors who through no fault of their own have delivered babies who have birth defects. This has caused some of them to stop their practices or pay staggering insurance premiums. None of this has produced anything other than a great fortune for Edwards at the cost of the productive

I am a conservative. I think that she is offensive, and of NO help to the cause. Her comments were absolutely OUT-OF-LINE! I turned Hannity & Colmes off last night, as soon as Hannity started to try to defend her. It is NO surprise that she would go on that show to defend herself, as Hannity sometimes goes over the line himself. I'll bet she sells a bunch of books from this, though.

I really couldn't give a damn about what she thinks, what she says, what she does. She could shave her head, for all I care. She really isn't that important, just some prag who gets off on thinking she is 'cause someone's dumb enough to buy her trash.

I am not offended by her idiotic comments. I didn't see them either because I have more important things to do than watch the Fox "News" channel.

I don't agree with anything she says, but I do find it funny how so many people get all uptight about it too.

No but I can guess the format. Ann says something so outrageous and silly that makes other Repubs look moderate by comparison, she get tons of free press for whatever crap she's selling and makes a boatload of money off under-sexed repubs who buy her crap.
