I have well water here in Florida, 6 years ago i purchased a airator (sp) to contain the sulfur smell, thats ok, then 2 years ago i got a water softner cause they said it will make us soap up better and smell yadda yadda.

Well now my clothes dont smell like they have been washed i use tide and downey and it still smells, is it the type of salt pellets i use? is there something else its horrible, and when i wash clothes i get no suds, i will change my salt if thats what it is

I have hard water and what I do is add a cup of white vinagar to each load of laundry. You would think your clothes will smell of salad but when the wash is done you have no smell. Vinagar will also help soften your clothes and keep your whites whiter and help keep your washer white as well. Everyone with hard water knows that over time the hard water plays a number on your washer. If your not getting any suds, mabe your washer is clogged or off balanced and holding in old water causing the smell. I did laundry when my water softner was broke so I wouldn't think that would be your problem. Hope that helps.

i live in the country and out here we have some very hard water and yea i know it sucks. but if you are having that much of a problem try using vinegar in a wash about a cut. it cuts Oder's from reg wash I'm almost positive it would yours too. also try gain fabric softener in your clothes. not the dryer sheets that's doesn't help at all. but the gain in the red bottle is awesome. that will make a difference as well

add 1/3 cup of baking soda to your wash. That will help deodorize the clothes and the water that is in the washer.
