I´m no doctor, so to give it a rest , you should take your son to one.
Anyway, boys phisioligy is a bit direferent from girls, whille girls have a progessive growth, boys dont, at 15-16yo they do a big jump in growth, provided they are healthy and eat well.
So he shouldnt worry too much, unless ofc he's allready taller than his parents.

Theres nothing wrong with your son, just look at this way, is your husband, small, skinny, even his own family?? What about you from your parents background, this will answer your question. i have my baby son who's 13 and will be 14 next month, when he was little, his the shortest boy in the class, but being a mother I thought he got it from his dad family back ground, but his daddy is 5'10. My son is also skinny but I think I'll take that instead of him over weight. Now my son is 5'6" and his only 13,but because of the sport at school this helps him grow.
Boys are late bloomers, not like girls, just let him be as he is and with your love and a little pet talk once a week,it will give him selfesteem. Also tell him that if his friends pick on him because his skinny, just tell him that they're only insecure which is true in reality. people that talk behinds their friends back are the insecure people,...............just love him thats all that we can do..

We all mature at different rates. I was still be carded when I was nearly 30 years old.
What you son should look at is not the negatives of his situation, but the positives. He's at that gawky age where he's growing and will eventually settle in to a fixed body type.
Perhaps he could try weight lifting to build himself up.
