yes little momma, you can.
No, there are no dyes that are going to be sucked through your scalp into your blood stream, that is a load of crap. The only reason you should not is that the hormones cause the hair to process differently than normal. (examples include super tight perms, loose perms, brassy hi-lights, hair not able to accept the color darker or lighter) I would recommend using semi or demi permanent color, or foil hi-lights. The foil hi lights can be toned if to brassy, and the semi or demi is no permanent if you don't like the color. Hope yours turns out great! Oh and by the by there is no proof what so ever that any baby has been affected by hair dye. Unless or course you drank it. ha ha Good luck!!

Yes. Several studies have shown that while it is best to wait until after 12 weeks, you are okay to dye at any time.

The problem was rooted in that the toxic chemicals in the dye are absorped via skin contact. If you are getting highlights, the dye never really touches the scalp. If you are getting all-over color, it's not on your head long enough for large amounts of the toxins to enter your system.

Just make sure you are in a well-venilated area. And don't drink the dye, or all of the above goes out the window. :)

There are no studies to prove or disprove the "dying your hair is bad" theory. However, my Dr. recommended against it. Also, I was at the salon this weekend & they said it's not necessarily the fumes or anything, but when you're pregnant your hair changed & dying it could seriously damage your hair.

I asked my stylist when i had my hair trimmed last. She said as long as it is not an ammonia-based hair color that it is perfectly safe for a pregnant woman. Something about how your body absorbs the dye and the ammonia, it was too techincal for me other than as long as it's not ammonia based. She also said a lot of the home hair kits have ammonia in them. I'd check with your salon and see what kind of experience they have with pregnant women and hair dye.

I'm waiting until my 2nd trimester to get anything other than a trim done to mine, but that's just me.

Good luck

you can the only thing is because of the hormonal imbalance the color may not come out as you want it to, a risk you have to be willing to take.. I have dyed my hair while being pregnant I was going darker so all was well I think the problem occurs when you are going lighter,,, atleast that is what I have heard ask your stylist

Yes, after your first trimester (13 weeks).... I get my done every 2 months and I am 28 weeks. But I was advised by my doctor not to do so until I was in my second trimester, becuase the baby is growing rapidly during the first trimester and you don't want the fumes to harm him/her in any way. so just hold it off until week 13 is over!

You should not get your hair dye because the chemicals are harmful to the baby. Especially if you want a healthy baby which I you do.
Good Luck

I rather you not because there are certain chemicals tin any dyes hat will sip through to your sculp and could result in entering your blood stream and eventually to the womb.
