Who do you think is the better actor- Johnny Depp or Keanu Reeves?

To me, Keanu Reeves is a better actor because his movies impact more people and he's had a lot of diverse roles. In the Devil's Advocate, The Matrix, Hardball, The Gift, The Watcher he plays 5 totally different characters. Johnny Depp plays mostly wacky, weird, charachters while Keanu takes on more true to life roles. So why does everyone think Johnny Depp is better?

I like Keanu's stuff better because its more edgy and cool...Johnny Depp is great, but he always plays someone weird, he never seems to play a normal charachter, but i guess that's why a lot of people like him

I prefer Johnny Depp to Keanu Reeves, only because Keanu doesn't have a wide variety of characters in him. He's still acting like he did in Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure. When Johnny Depp is acting, he's got a wide array of emotions, and characters.

I prefer Keanu. I think the majority of people prefer Johnny Depp, mainly because in Keanu's earlier movies, Ted came through a lot. His more recent stuff is not like that. I mean, you can't see Ted in Neo at all. Plus Keanu is WAY better looking! :)

Depp hands down. Keanu has had pretty straight-laced movies whereas Depp has been in all types and that requires raw talent. You kinda know what to expect from a Keanu movie whereas with Depp you sit and wait to be caught up in the character he plays.

Okay, hands down, Johnny Depp is the better actor. You judge acting ablity not by the film but by the performance. Reeves is pretty to look at but he is incapable of the depth of performance that Depp routinely delivers.

Keanu always seems to be playing himself , he always seems quiet and reserved in real life , the parts he plays are a bit like this as well . Johnny on the other hand plays such diverse odd-ball over the top roles and very serious characters as well. he is an artist.
