The manual is the little booklet in the case the Sims 2 came in. On the back of the booklet at the top it has the serial number on it. The FORMAT of the numbers should read XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. All you have to do is run the Sims 2 go through the installation steps and when the serial number step comes up type in the EXACT serial number from the back of the booklet and it should work. It is either on the box or on the Jewel case it came in. Manual is either a Mexican or the little pamphlet inside of the CD case.

normaly the serial number is on the inside of the case or the back of the manual.
if you bought it new take it back, but if its used i don't think you can do much
