When I first started to take action in my life to pursue happiness instead of being a blamer for my life and emotional state, I started by looking into what the Greats of the world had to say. Einstein, Plato, Socrates, Buddha, Jesus, Roosevelt, Dr. Laura, etc. etc. self-help books of all kinds, I realized that man kind has been fighting this stuff forever. And it is THE most important thing there is to get a truthful perspective on. Just seek truth in all things. You'll never get to a destination but the journey is beautiful and very fulfilling. We are psychosomatic beings (an integrated body and mind). With developing the mind in the right direction, the body will follow.

emotionally, practice yoga or stretch at least daily. listen more than you talk. make yourself a promise that whatever someone says to you during the process of the day, it is not that serious to get upset over.
physically, jot down on the calendar exercises that you plan to do and check them off as you accomplish them. join a local gym.

When I decided I needed to make changes and reinvent myself, I moved 10 hours from my home town. I knew no one and got to start all over with people who didn't know anything about my past.
I cut my hair, changed how I dressed and got a job with a small company.
That was 15 years ago and I don't regret it.
