Trading Thomas Jones to the Jets for a 2nd round pick. Cedric Benson couldn't stay healthy for 2 games straight even if he was the place kicker.

It was a mistake to draft him #4 overall in the first place and now they compound the problem by forcing that #4 pick to carry the workload because Angelo doesn't want to admit that it was a wasted pick.

I thought it was a great move. The bears will be lucky to win 6 games next year.

I'll tell you whats wrong with the Bears. The Bears are who I thought they were! First, they do NOTHING to improve their QB situation, so with the Paris Hilton of the NFL under center, no one will "crown their ***" this year either. They franchise LB Lance Briggs, then shop him to other teams. Now the Thomas Jones move is great for both parties - Thomas Jones and the New York Jets. They invested a lot in Cedric Benson, and TJ wasn't really into splitting his carries in the first place. The Jets now have a franchise back and the Bears are left with Benson to be the man. I'm not sure he's ready, but for his sake he better be because the Bears fans are who I thought they were as well.

The Bears front office is obviously mental at this point. Dealing away Jones when he their go to back this last season. The whole business with not wanting to give Lovie Smith the salary he deserves. Did they not enjoy the idea of going to the Super Bowl? This is almost as bad as Tampa Bay dealing away half of their Super Bowl squad the season after they won it (QB Brad Johnson, S and Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson, DB John Lynch to name a few). I'm just glad I'm not a Bears fan.

I thought we'd see just the opposite, that is trading Benson and keeping Thomas. That one was definitely a head shaker.

It goes to show you that the organization is not doing a good job in a maintaining the team together. Briggs wants to leave Chicago as well.

I think it works GREAT for the jets.

The one they should get rid of they keep defending(GROSSman) and than trade their only consistant offinsive player? If I am Briggs I would want out to.They are going the wrong direction-as if they dont want to win.
