My husband and I are trying to conceive. I just started what I think to be my period this morning, a whole 3 days late. I have very regular periods and PMS including tender breasts, moodiness, etc. This time, I had NO PMS symptoms and nothing to indicate my period was coming. I have had an increased apetite, strange breast pains, fatigue, and strange light-headedness/queeziness if I stand up too long. I have not been under any stress lately and have not taken anything that would affect my period (like birth control). Is it possible that I am pregnant? Can you be pregnant and still have a period, and if so, how common is it?

Hi-

It could be that you are pregnant and just getting some spotting- how heavy is your period? Many women still get some bleeding even though they are pregnant.
It also might be that you were pregnant, and for some reason have miscarried very early on.
I would get a home pregnancy test and use it with your first morning urine (this contains more of the horomone, HCG, that the test detects) or go to a doctor and have them do a blood test.
In the meantime, start taking prenatal vitamins if you haven't already!

Take a pregnancy test at home! When I fell pregnant I didnt have any signs until i missed my period, my boobs where very sore, I had mild period-like cramps, felt sick sometimes when I ate and felt light-headed at some times too. The best thing to do is to take a home pregnancy test, if it shows up negative then wait a few days and retest and do not drink alot of fluid before taking the test as this will dilute your pee. However if it comes up with a faint positive.. you are pregnant.. I had that but it all depends on the individual. The best home pregnancy tests would have to be first response they come in a pretty pink packet :) Good Luck!!! X

If you've started your period then the likelihood of you being pregnant is extremely small. If you're spotting a little and then nothing, then this might be implantation bleeding but if this continues for more than a couple of days and is heavier than spotting, then it's a period. I'd say the "symptoms" you've been feeling is related to wanting to be pregnant so much that your body is responding accordingly.

I would say it is possible. Take a test if you still think you are pregnant. If not I wish you luck for the next time. Have fun!
