this past week i have noticed that my ankles are swelling, my socks and cutting in because they r so tight, and my boots that go above my ankle which normally arent tight have been. i was just wondering on what might be causing this. i took a pregnancy test a few days ago and it was negative, and i just got done with my cycle on the 26 so i am almost positive that i am not pregnant. does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this to happen.

Swelling means you are retaining fluids. This needs to be checked out by the doctor as it means something is wrong with your circulatory system. Make an appointment to get this checked out soon.

have you increased the amount of salt in your diet? Increasing salt in the diet makes the body retain fluid. If you sit alot you are more prone to swollen ankles. People with congestive heart failure also get it....but dont worry...its most likely too much salt.

maybe you have a heart problem....any heart conditions in your family?high blood? or maybe you need to lay low on salt, when you sit down try to pull your feet up in front of you and put pillows, do this everytime you relax or after you had your walk, i hope you are not fond of wearing high heels coz sometimes wearing one of those often causes feet problems, one of which is swelling...did i help? :-)

push on your ankle with your finger. Does it leave an indent, a white fingermark? If so, you are definitly retaining water.
