how long before I can access my funds from the sale of my home?

I have sold my house, will I recieve the funds from the sale on the date of entry or is there a hold of the funds by my mortgage company/bank?

There is no "hold" as such. But there is time needed for the payment check to clear both banks. Then someone from your mortgage company has to issue a check and send it to you. Best thing to do: find our who is supervising your account. Let him know the check is coming.
