you might want to talk to someone about all the grief and lonileness that you are feeling. If you can work through those emotions in a more positive and productive way, you wouldn't need to drink to mask what you are feeling. Good luck

Hey you... first of all, forgive yourself. You are very troubled about some events in your life, and you need some counseling to help you get past this. The drinking is just your way of escaping the pain that's inside. Even if you CAN stop yourself from drinking, the pain is still in there... so go get some professional help. Don't be ashamed about it... if you have a physical illness you go to a doctor, so when you have a wounded heart and can't get past it, then you go get some help for it from a doctor (or licensed counselor). Trust me, it will help. Then the drinking will subside, as you won't need it for a crutch. Don't waste any more time... go now. Good luck!

First thing is first, just quit. You can't do by yourself. Get some help. One of my friends had a drinking problem. Now he doesn't drink at all. He found help in God. Although, if your not the type there is always your local AA. I know it sounds stupid but if you really want to quit it is what you have to do. Than you have to let yourself mourn the healthy way. Do you really think your friend would want you to end up this way? I don't think so. I don't. I am a new mother and every time I look at my son, it gives me a reason to stay healthy and alive. You are just killing yourself every time you take a drink. You don't want. Your children don't want that. They love you. I hope this helps.

You can stop but it will only happen when you believe that you can. You're here telling us all the reasons why you do it. Can you give me any reason why you shouldn't?

Your life is suppose to be about YOU, not other people. Your kids were suppose to grow up, be independent and move out. God took your friend in the car crash, that was out of your control. You need to get in touch with the real you and celebrate being yourself by doing things (besides drinking) that are meaningful to you.

first if you have been drinking so much you need help from you dr and may need to join a good group like AA, it can be very hard to stop by yourself.
second you need to get out of the house go walking or jogging, fresh air and exercise will help you get over being sad, you many want to find a fun hobby you can do in groups like scrap booking, that way you can make something beautiful about your kids and best friend while working past the initial pain of loss.
the last thing as well is you may be in depression as well as being addicted to the alcohol so you need to talk to your dr. about the drinking and your emotions its not wrong to get professional help.
