Boise State couldn't make it to the D-2 National Championship next year.

I don't see them going undefeated with Zabransky gone and Hawaii returning QB Colt Brennan. Hawaii lost to them by a touchdown last season and I look for them to beat BSU this time around.

Should they go undefeated it's going to take several of the other "big" contenders losing at least 1 game in order for them to get in. And even with 1 loss, playing in a conference like the SEC or Big Ten, or Notre Dame-esque schedule....those teams will get the nod before Boise State because of the weight of their conferences/schedules.

Boise State's hope would be to have a weighty, tough non-conference schedule. And so far their non-conference schedule for 07-08 consisting of Southern Miss, Washington, Weber State, and Bowling Green doesn't look like much of a BCS booster at all.

Oh how I wish............they opened alot of people's eyes this year knocking off Oklahoma......but................

1) They play in a weak conference
2) They do not play enough "quality" opponents out of conference
3) That is why their computer ranking will never justify it
4) Press: they don't get enough of it
5) TV: not enough people see their games
6) Drawing factor: let's face it, people would rather watch a big-time program such as USC, Notre Dame, etc in a high profile bowl game, that is why the networks would push a major program in a major bowl game (the TV ratings factor)

Unfortunately, this adds up to Boise St. not making it to the National Championship, even if they go undefeated. Remember:
they were an "at-large" bid in the BCS this year, they don't go
automatically no matter what.

No. If they want to be in the National Championship, they need to drop the WAC, become an independent like Notre Dame, and then they schedule whatever teams they want, and that way they can actually schedule some good teams. Then if they go undefeated they can be in the national championship.

sadly i dont think so. they've earned some cred for this years bowl game but the bcs is too dependent on stregnth of schedule to place them in the national championship.
college football schedules are made long in advance to the actual season, so by the time Boise State can get a real tough schedule their run of success may be over.

The BCS won't take them seriously unless they add like UCLA or USC to the schedule...and beat them...Their strength of schedule is the problem...even if they go undefeated...I mean, obviously Washington is on the way up after a couple down years...so that's a good opponent...and yes, their comeback bowl win was one of the best comebacks in history...

There's NO WAY that bunch will ever win a title unless they go undefeated and play a HUGE non-conference schedule to make up for the conference weaklings they beat up on.

They never will as long as they continue to play the conference schedule they do. Even their out of conference schedule last year was very weak. They won't get national championship consideration until they start playing several of the 'major' schools on a regular basis.

Not unless only one other team goes undefeated. I would still stay it would take them going undefeated next year AND then a third year, where only one other team goes undefeated that third year.
