mix light or not mix?

I attend to polish high school. During all classes we have light switch on. It is so annoying. Even when the sun is shinig. Isn;t it a waste of energy?
What do you think? SOme ppl say that it damages our eyes. Is it true?

if its a fluorescent light it can have an affect on eyes !!!! but the energy waste is terrible " get a petition signed by the pupils to such an effect

For work, more light is usually better, unless it is shining in your eyes!

Natural sunlight is better for your eyes.
