I'm going to Florida in 6 days and if I go tanning 6 times will I get a little color? I'm fair but tan easily and rarely burn. I'm 33 and well aware of the dangers of tanning so please don't lecture me! How many minutes should I go each day? And if get a spray tan done will that prevent me from getting tan (i.e., does it have sunblock in it?)? Also, what's a good product for indoor tanning that isn't $50 like the salon's products?

Do not go 6 six days in a row, but rather 3 times a week and yes, you should get some color.
Spray tans will not prevent you tanning or burning. Personally, I don't like the spray tan. If it isn't applied correctly, you get dark patches.
Hemp makes a great line of indoor tanning products that can be purchased in the salon and aren't crazy expensive.
Have a great trip!

Ugh skip the spray on tan. They look blotchy and orange. 6 times should get you a little color. I use this site...

http://www.lotion4you.com/

That site is great and they have discount lotion prices. My tanning salon charges 10 - 20 more dollars per bottle than the prices on the site so it's a no brainer! Make sure to wear you lotion and your goggles!

To start out, for your skin type, I would suggest...

1st time - 8 mins
2nd time - 8 mins
3rd time - 10 mins
3rd time - 10 mins
4th time - 12 mins
5th time - 12 mins
6th time - 14 to 15 mins

You really shouldn't tan 6 days in a row because your skin needs time to heal and produce the melanin in your skin, which is what makes you look tan. If you go every other day, you should build a great tan.

If you don't burn easily, then these times should be okay for you. Only thing to keep in mind is the intersity of the bed. Some places have restrictions and time limits on certain beds because the bulbs are so strong.

I would also suggest always going to a professional tanning salon. A lot of nail salons offer tanning beds, but a lot of those places are really un-educated about safe indoor tanning.

Best of luck and enjoy your vacation!

You best bet would be a mystic tan. They do not have sunblock. In fact, some make you more susceptible to sun damage without sunscreen. Tanning beds work well, but they do not work over night. If you decide on the tanning bed, lay for 5-7 minutes the first day gradually increasing about 2 minutes of everyday if it does not burn you until you reach the maximum amount of time. Trust me though, just because you rarely burn in the sun doesn't mean you won't on a bed. I am fair, and I burn on beds when I lay everyday(except places that don't ever see sunlight) my cousin naturally has a dark tan and fries worse than I do. So be very careful, and do not go in thinking you won't burn. It could happen, and it makes it impossible to lay the next day, unless you like pain.

No lecture, just common sense and the facts.

Skip the tanning bed, and cover up when you're in Florida, and use a good sunblock with a minimum of SPF30. 40 would be even better, at least in the first part of the week. If you want to go to the beach, wait until after 2-3 PM so that the sun's intensity has waned a bit, and still use sunblock. It takes time to be absorbed a bit and be effective, so put it on before you leave for the beach, and you'll be all ready to go when you get there.
