Look blame it on Princeton and Rutgers , because back in1869 they played the inaugural college soccer football game. Looks like we Yanks took the rules from the London Football Association and made it our own. In this game the ball was moved like soccer except hands were allowed.

Just so you know Canada has their own version of Football the CFL.

Not sure there's a question here, but why should it matter that we call it soccer? It sounds alot better, and besides, we already have a sport called football. How stupid (and confusing) would it be to have two sports with the same name?

Odd when I turn on the TV Guide Channel and see Univision listings they call it FutBol, not football. Anyway why are you so concerned what we call it? Do you really think that it would catch on in America if we called it Football and changed the name of OUR football? Come on.
