I put cereal in my children's milk/formula. It coats their stomach and makes them feel more full. Most of the time it will increase the span between the feeding times so they aren't wanting more sooner, which of course is a blessing to your time consumption. Sure, you could call a doctor and inquire about what to do, but they'll give you that same old crap about how it's too early to give your baby this or that. Come on people, they used to give all kinds of food to babies at this age back in the day. Honestly, I would go with a small amount of cereal and go from there...increase it when you feel he is ready. Good Luck!

Baby is toooo young for anything but breast milk or formula. Hold off until he's at least 6 months old. Regarding the reflux, feed smaller amounts of formula more often. For example, if you're giving him 6 ounces every 4 hours, go to 3 ounces every couple of hours. Burp him more frequently too and make sure when you're feeding him that his head is up. Also, make sure his clothes aren't too tight around the tummy. Same with a car seat...make sure the belt isn't too tight against his tummy. You mentioned organic foods. Have you tried an organic formula? I've used Baby's Only Organic in the past as a breast milk supplement. Hope this helps.

By milk- do you mean brest milk or formula? Because babies his age are not supposed to have straight milk. Anyway usually around 4-6 months, babies are started on rice cereal or oatmeal. THan if his digestive system can take the mild cereals- you can try him on fruit or vegetable baby food. Some mothers (although all perdiatricials dont always agree with this) put rice cereal in the babies bottles to help them be satisfied longer. But I think you should bring him to his pediatrician because it could be something like Gastric reflux that is making him fuss.
Another theory is that sometimes babies act like they are hungry when all they want is to the soothing acheived fom the sucking of the bottle/breast. So it would probably be a good idea to try him on a pacifier. Maybe that would solve the problem. But do consult your physicial just in case it is something more serious.
I hope this is help

Sounds like you might be overfeeding him. I did the same thing with my twins..if you feed them too much they spit up more. Try cutting back on food a little bit, at the end of the 2nd month they should be eating 24-31oz...at the end of the 3rd month they should be eating 26-35. Now my twins at 4 months old eat 5-6 oz every 4 hours. Do not jumpstart food! It will give them an upset belly and if you think you are unhappy now..wait until he screams for hours at a time because he doesnt feel well! Ask your doc if its ok to put a little rice cereal in his bottle..my doc oked it for my twins and it DOES help keep a little down..but then you start with constipation problems. Just try to stick to regular formula for now...and a little less. I heard 6 oz and I thought OH MY...My twins were preemies as well..try feeding him a little less! It will get much better

Consult your doctor before beginning to feed your baby solid foods. It's likely that your baby needs more frequent breastfeeding or more ounces of formula. If you're nursing, make sure you sit down and relax with the baby while breastfeeding so that the "let down" reflex happens every time you feed your son. This will insure that the breastmilk has the highest fat content and will be more nourishing.
When you do begin solid foods, very thin cereal is usually offered first. My doctor recommended rice cereal.
I did start my second child on cereal when he was 3.5 months old, with the approval of his doctor, but he weighed more than 17 lbs at the time. (he weighed 9lbs. 10oz at birth.)

I am sorry but, I don't know what rusks are?
It is best that you ask your babies Dr. about giving fruit and vegetables. Usually before you do that you start off with giving him some rice cereal added to his formula . You don't make it thick you just add a little bit to his formula in his bottle and that will help fill him up a bit more but, you have to watch out because rice cereal is constipating. You should call your Dr.'s office and ask if that is alright. I am pretty sure that he/she will say that the rice cereal is alright but I am not sure about the fruits and vegetables.

No. He should be on only breast milk or formula. Between 4 and 6 months you may introduce infant cereal and at 6 months you may introduce other solids. If he isn't satisified, make sure he is getting enough, and that he does not have any allergies.

All babies are different and some just need more food. Many years ago we were told to give our babies cereal at 2 weeks. A friend's baby was put on cereal at 2 days because she was taking 4 oz of formula every 2 hours. Listen to your baby's needs and base your decision on that.

I think that's a little young especially if he was premature (for most milestones you would subtract the time that he was premature). He may be going through a growth spurt? Also since he was premature he may just be trying to catching up. Are you breastfeeding and feel that you're not making enough or do you give him formula? If you're breastfeeding, take a look at your diet, make sure you're eating healthy and drinking enough water. If it's formula, I think you can just increase the amount you give him.

I would call your dr. I did certain things when my son was that age to satisfy him but he wasn't premature. At 8 weeks he weighed 13 lbs. So, if Milk alone isn't enough for him ask your dr what you can do. He may just say to increase the ounces.
