Is love worth it if it leads to depression or thoughts of suicide? Isn't it possible to love with joy, to have fun in love, to speak to each other rather than clam up at the sight at each other, to look in the same direction rather than stare at each other...why should it be heavy-duty and unnatural? Why is love so unnatural and sudden... "love at first sight"... doesn't it grow from friendship and concern?

Very well-put. I agree with your thoughts of how love is best expressed and most healthy. The dangerous "love" that you describe is not a love of two independent, but dependent people, experiencing Paradise Regained wherein the two are filled with 220 volts of "feeling power," and they are willing to do anything to keep it, giving up their previously well-formed boundaries of themselves, thereby giving up themselves into an overwhelming desire for a short-term symbiotic fusion. Too often it becomes a relationship of pathologies, rather than a relationship of two independent people, the latter of which can have the better and enduring love that you describe.

Well you think a lot better than Lolita did and you realize that. You described true love beautifully. You need to find someone who will face the same direction with you and you two can build your plans for the future and your lives together. Any kind of love that comes through staring back and forth as in a mirror, is not for you. That leads to strife and anger. Love does not do batttle with itself nor does it try and train another person. Love joins hands and faces the world as one. @8-)

it IS natural, we are animals, designed to pair up and have sex and form strongemotinal bonds so that kids are well cared for and have more chance of reproducing themselves.

Mostly when people get into love and lust with each other its because their genes are different. Its like the genes want to mix so they chose some unlike their own and that makes stronger babies.

its not that its unnatural, there's nothing more natural then love, but i will agree that alot of problems can develope from it BECAUSE it comes so sudden sometimes. but other then that, its like the old saying goes, "it's better to of loved and lost, then to have never loved at all".
