Hi How are? I wouldn't take him to the dentist yet he really is to young. I am a dental Assistant and what I would recommend 4 you do is what the doctor I work for told me to do (I have 10 month old twin boys) before the baby goes to sleep you can brush the babies teeth and gums with the infant gum and toothbrush with the infant toothpaste that is safe for the baby to swallow or if you don't have a baby gum/toothbrush wipe your babies teeth and gums with a piece of gauze. You want to do this to remove the formula from the baby's tooth leaving it there can cause tooth decay. Usually around 2 years of age is a perfect time for you to take your child to the dentist. Start slow allowing your baby to sit on your lap while you get a cleaning. This way the baby sees that and isn't so scared when it's his or her turn. Goodluck and I hope this helps!!

Most dentists like to see children around ages 2-3. That is the case with our dentist. Now you can still take the proper care of his teeth by using that tooth and gum cleanser and using a soft brisell tooth brush.

Is anything wrong with the tooth? If not then no cause for alarm. Remember there are some as young as 3 months who have teeth not a tooth. It all depends with one's diet during pregnancy, genetics, just to mention a few!

When should children first visit a dentist? "First visit by first birthday" According to the [American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry; http://aapd.org] children should first visit the dentist when they receive their first tooth or by the child’s first birthday. Early dental care is important for dental prevention in the future. However, dental problems can begin early. A major dental concern for young children is Early Childhood Caries, also known as baby bottle tooth decay or nursing caries.
How can I prevent tooth decay from a bottle or nursing? To prevent tooth decay in young children, the [American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry; http://aapd.org] recommends that children be encouraged to begin drinking from a cup as they approach their first birthday. At nap times or at night, children should not fall asleep with a bottle. It is recommended that nighttime breast-feeding be avoided after the first primary (baby) teeth begin to erupt. Drinking juice or other sugary drinks from a bottle should always be avoided. When such drinks are offered, they should be served in a cup.

Yes, most dentists start to see children when they are three years old. You can buy a baby toothbrush and use that to keep his tooth clean!
