I have broadband internet, but it is on the other side of the house. Idon't think I can extend a ethernet cable all the way from the bedroom to the living room.

you don't have to use the xbox wireless adapter to get a wireless signal to the unit. If you have a wireless router then you can buy a wireless bridge, set it down next to the 360 and plug a small network cable into the back of the 360 from the bridge.

the bridge communicates with your router and sends the info to the 360 through a short network cable.

The 360 wireless unit is way overpriced, you can get the job done for about 50 bucks instead of 100.

I don't think you can get wireless capabilities without the wireless adapter. And if you want internet access, you're going to have to plug an ethernet cord from the modem/router to the 360.

You could try to rewire the cable yourself inside the wall so that it doesn't stick out. Or you can have the cable company install another internet connection for you that's closer to the 360.
