I've computed the factorial for you. Unfortunately, the answer is too large for this post to contain, so I've uploaded the result using yousendit. You may download the file from http://download.yousendit.com/AF2367D617C6DB98 . It's almost 1.5 million digits long.

I calculated this factorial using a free computer algebra system called Maxima. You may download it from http://maxima.sourceforge.net/ . Calculating the factorial required no special commands, just type in 285714!; and wait for the result. It took about 5 minutes on my system (guesstimate, I wasn't really paying too much attention), so if you're calculating other similarly large factorials, you may want to go make yourself a sandwich or something while you wait.

Edit: Lol at Elcie. The whole post about how it would take several generations to calculate this quantity exactly would be funny on its own, but considering that the guy above you has already done it, in about 5 minutes, using free software, makes it hilarious!

If you don't want to use Sterling's approximation (who or what is "sterlin"?), then you got to start multiplying.

285714! = 1 x 2 x 3 x 4 x ... x 285713 x 285714

The answer has about 7,606,925 decimal digits, so you're going to need a lot a scratch paper. It would take over 800 pages to print the final answer.

A faster way to calculate the factorial of 285714 is to take the anti-log of the sum of the logs of the terms used to calculate the factorial.

10^(sum(log k,k=1...285714)) = 285714!

I don't have any software/hardware that can get an answer for that high of a number.

simplest math ever.
calculate 285714*285713........................*5*4*3*2*1
i.e if 285714=n
then the formula to use is n*(n-1)*(n-2)*................(n-285713=1)

start calculating today. Before you die please hand over the calculation to your next generation and tell them to pass it to the next may be 10 generations. They will definitely get the exact answer. And.......... Bingo the whole world will know the answer.
