friend bought me a poker set for my birthday, has everything i need for a home game, except the value of the coloured chip's.the colour's are, black/green/red/blue/white, can anyone tell me the correct value of each,many thnx in advance.

You can make your own value for each colour.

It differs. The tournament director sets the values for the game. In this case, if you are hosting you can set the value anyway that you like. We use the same colors and the values are set as follows:

White - 10
Red - 50
Blue - 100
Black - 500
Green - 1000

standard values:

White: $1
red: 5
blue: 10 (rarely used)
green: 25
black 100
