If you really want a cell phone, show your parents that you understand the monetary cost! An additional cell phone on an existing plan may cost an extra $10 - $20 per month. That's $120 - $240 extra per year. Offer "compensation": extra chores; better grades; something to let them know that you understand the value of the thing and that you're willing to earn it to deserve it!
In reality, when was your last emergency? It costs $0.25-$0.50 to call from a pay phone. No phone to lose, no ringtones to buy, and no one can bother you at the movies or library.
The real "cool" is to be ***unreachable***. Can you call the President? Madonna? Nope.

They are fun to play with, when you're 13 you have a lot of free time that you need to fill and a cell phone is the perfect solution!
The many hours spent as a 13 year old playing snake - 2 player of course!
These days I use my moby to listen to mp3s, take piccys and watch televizzle, so maybe if you were going to get a camera or mp3 player you could split the cost with the olds and buy a moby instead and everyone is happy and you can txt your super cute bf!
And don't buy any ****ing ringtones! That will save you some $

If your parents are allowing you to venture out a lot as you say ,or do they know this, explain to them it is almost a must have for kids these days. Also do you do anything to help out around the house?Prove to them that you are willing to work and be responsible while keeping up your grades at school and maybe they will see the matter in a different light. If those things don't help ,what did your sisters do to get their phones? Are they working, involved in after school activities, things to consider.Or you may just have to wait till you have a paying job and get one on your own someday.

Well you have to show them that you are responsible. Most parents are reluctant to give their childeren cell phones simply because they think that they will lose them. I had to start showing my mom that I was responsible and I got my first phone when I was in the 4th grade... but it was prepaid. Then by 12 my mom put me on her plan. But once you get on a plan you have to be really careful because if you lose that phone somebody can find it and charge up the bill!!! Now I'm 17 and I'm still on my mom's plan but I help pay for it since I have a job. But just ask your mom to buy you a little $20.00 phone with minutes and then if all goes well you can upgrade to her plan. Good Luck!!

13 is a little too young to have a cell phone. Unless your parents get you an Amigo which they can program a few numbers into and use that for emergencies.

It is late. I got one when I was 12. You have to come up with a few good reasons to get a phone (Like Emergencies and Such), get your sisters on your side (My brother helped me), and then persuade your parents. It may take a while, but you should get one. Every teen should have one. It's an unwritten law.

do no longer nag approximately it. provide em a splash right here or there which you fairly choose a telephone. case in point. mom:"while could desire to i p.c.. you up after the occasion?" youngster"i don't understand.. am i able to borrow your telephone so i'm able to call you to p.c.. me up?" as quickly as stuff like that happens sufficient, your make sure will probable seize on which you kinda choose a telephone. it works! a minimum of with my mothers and dads. that's how i've got been given my telephone in 5th grade. additionally, do no longer ask for costly telephones. decide for something inexpensive like decrease than $50. That way, your mothers and dads may be extra lenient in the direction of getting you a telephone as a results of fact it wont cut back into their wallets as plenty. case in point, i've got been given my RAZR V3m in 5th grade as a results of fact i it replaced into in simple terms $30 money. Then i began out texting slightly later. the bill went up around $10-$15 a month and my mothers and dads have been like "you recognize what? I dont like paying $15 extra each and each month so Im gonna get you the countless txting plan for $10 a month. They kinda notice that i texted plenty so now they have been given me an LG enV 3 as a results of fact it replaced into my b-day and there replaced into some variety of specific promoting. To make it fool evidence: a million.make your mothers and dads notice which you fairly choose a telephone(from tricks no longer arguments) 2.decide for a inexpensive telephone. Its extra effective than no longer something 3.as quickly as your mothers and dads see you having a telephone as a common subject, try to handle larger telephones, try getting them in the time of promotions(verify your mail) and ask for "em to your birthday/christmas. this would possibly not paintings with all mothers and dads in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it worked for me! desire this helps!
