HAHA Sorry! I don't know the answer to your question but as soon as I read it this is what I thought of and I thought it was funny. But that is a very good question. What the crap does it stand for? Why tee or "t"?

The origin of the name is uncertain: many refer to the shape of the shirt as a "T", while it could also emphasize the use of the army as a "training shirt". Who knows? I don't however, the shoulders with the arms wide apart is in the shape of a T so I am guessing it was derive from that.
