can anyone help me? i need this for our final examinations in PE class. My crazy teacher did'nt teach us how to do this cuz he's so lazy!!! can anyone help?

These terms are contradictory. If you do a single-elim tournament, you play 1vs.8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, and 4 vs. 5. The 1-8 winner plays the 4-5 winner in the semis. The other semi is the winners of the other two first-round games. Single-elimination means that you do not play loser's bracket games. Lose and go home.
Round Robin means that everyone plays everyone else once and you create standings. That is basically what a regular-season schedule is.
