i know the answer is prolly going to be no lol but i figured id ask just to make sure. can i put my corn snake in the same cage as my ball python? the tank is a really nice size to suit both of them and they both are very well tempered and not aggressive at all. will they actually attack each other or is the worse thing i have to worry about is just mites which neither of them have.

Neither of these snakes are noted to be cannibalistic, but they both require totally different living conditions. The royal needs almost desert conditions, with higher heat & more light while the corn is much more tolerable of low temps & , after becoming sexually mature, will require hibernation (brumation) time to successfully reproduce, something the royal doesn't need. In fact, the lower temps & light required to let the corn rest will be detrimental to the health of the royal. So basically, don't keep these two together.

Very bad idea. Snakes eat other snakes in the wild and will also do so if they are put in the same cage as a different smaller snake. The python will most definately try to devour the corn snake. Do not put them in the same cage or pretty soon you will have one snake instead of two.

No, you should never mix two different species. Two corn snakes can happily live together, but definitely not a corn snake and a ball python. This is putting them in an unnatural environment that will cause them to get defensive. It's not really fair to the snakes.

NEVER house two snakes of different species together. It stresses the snakes out and the ball python could injure or even eat the corn snake.

Don't even house snakes of the same species together. The ONLY time two snakes of the SAME species should EVER be housed together is during breeding.

Not unless you intend to feed the corn snake to the python.

What is a "really nice size"? You can use a clear plexi or glass partition to divide the tank in half. This way they can both share the same environment but remain separate. They will feel more secure and will feel less competitive if you use a solid divider, but a clear one works fine. As they grow you will want to give them their own environment any way.

If you are housing them in less than a 40gal wide tank (3'x2'x18") then you will find them quite cramped and in a stressful situation.

Your right the answer is NO! Never a good ideal to mix species of herps. Esp if you are feeding live pray! This is a good way to end up with an injured or dead animal....
