My suggestion would be to start by drinking more water. When you breastfeed you should drink twice as much as you should normally, which would be about 20 8oz glasses. Also, increase your fiber and decrease your sugar and caffeine intake. Sometimes ONE small cup of coffee in the morning will get the bowels moving but be careful not too much. Your fiber should include at least 3 fruits such as pears, oranges, and apples (organic if possible). Other foods with fiber are 100% whole wheat pastas and breads. Women should get between 20-25g of fiber a day and when lactating women of course even more. Sounds like a lot, just try to make healthy choices for snacks and meals. I hope this helps! PS. no solids for 6 months!!

Breastmilk is a natural laxative. Thats the best thing you can give him.
Its normal for a breastfed baby to go up to 10 days without a bowel movement. If youre really concerned you can do a themometer enema. Just be sure to have something under him to obsorb the mess!
If he's really having trouble, you may need to look at what you shouldnt be eating. Dairy is the most common culprit.

You need fiber to help with bowel movements, and this is not passed on through breast milk. Talk to your doctor or pediatrician, they may be able to give you an infant suppository to help him out!

your child is 1 month old you cannot give him him anything besides formula or breastmilk. formula feed babies this is common. my daughter actually went 9 days without a bm, the dr said this is normal. if your son is in pain i would possibly use a thermonotior in his but, that always makes them poop. you have to kinda wiggle it around. also give him some tummy drops for the gas.

Just think of what makes you go and eat that. It's gonna sound wierd but what ever makes your husband go too! For me when I eat a lot of fibre it shows through my little one, when I eat corn and blueberries (those affect my husband) she goes as well.
Best of luck and I hope this passes soon!

For god's sake your milk won't really pass the stuff on...
babies do pass motion once every 2-4 days and it's not abnormal...
BUT, if he's been crying then please take him to pediatrician
is his abdomen swollen...gently feel to see if there are hard masses in the left lower abdomen...
is there any fever?
is he feeding normally or less...
If everything else is normal, chances are your baby is normal too...but if any other thing is wrong too, take him to a doctor please
