If there's any evidence that he's treating them unfairly based on his beliefs... he could be fired. But if it's just freedom of speech they can't.

University can protect their interests by firing him if he's unfair: otherwise female students will quit coming to the school.

Professor is allowed freedom of speech, so if he says things a lot, but doesn't do anything about it, he probably can't be fired.

Actually it depends very much on the jurisdiction... the supreme court hasn't made a final decision on this yet

Time magazine had an article about it about two years ago and I have seen it in other magazines as well as television. But I don't remember anything about inferior. I read that men have a miniscule amount more brain mass, better capacity to focus but less capacity to multi-task. There are significant differences in the structure and concentrations of brain activity. In order to say inferior/better you have to try to decide what traits would most likely continue ones survival given all probability, which you can not. Nothing I read said a woman couldn't waste me at chess, recall more information, or lay me to waste in a gladitorial arena.

If the professor doesn't put as much effort into teaching his female students as he does the males, then he should be fired. If he treats all students equally and fairly, he should keep his job.

freedom of speech encompasses all protected speech however distasteful. we cannot punishes those whose views differ from our own, or we may too be punished one day for something we disagree with. this professor's views are still only the opinion of one person and those who truly believe in freedom of expression must allow to say what he is constitutionally allowed to say, or this would set a dangerous precedent, and may further constrict our evermore constricted freedoms. so for the greater good, he shouldn't be fired for merely stating his opinion, only if he acts upon them.

Where did you stand when hundreds of professors were publically spewing anti-America rhetoric and blasting the troops and the president?

If you have been silent until now, chances are that you have created the presidence to allow the university to retain your anti feminist professor.

You can't have it both ways.
