if the noise is constant regardless of braking and seems to increase in intensity with the speed of the car you are most likely hearing a faulty hub bearing

Likely possibilities: wheel bearing gone bad, left CV joint or brake cylinder on l/f wheel.

check front brakes, especially if it's worse when you are braking.
