My best friend (20, Irish) recently got engaged to her boyfriend (26, Russian). However I haven't heard a dicky bird from her in 5 weeks. No text message no email. After the engagement she seemed really happy and kept in touch with me discussing wedding dates etc. all the usual stuff. Then she just ..disappeared. We are in college in different areas but live close enough to each other.
Any idea what's going on?
I don't think I said anything to tick her off. I'm worried about the engagement. It's my job to be. I'm her friend but I've never told her this so it can't be that. We are both really busy with college exams coming up but it doesn't take long to send an email or text message.

I think I should also add that I send her messages and emails but she never answers. I didn't give up on her. It's just like sending messages into orbit

I should also add that she lives in a flat near her college and lives with her boyfrend when shes not in college so shes never at her house.

Who knows - CALL HER. Go round to her house or what ever- its a communication thing. We could all speculate about this- for instance maybe she is just caught with the love fairies and not thinking of anyone or anything else. Its a pretty big deal getting engaged- but I don't know that would only be a guess.
Think the best of her. Assume there is some reason, some explanation. Make contact

i do not understand when you say "it's my job to be", BE WHAT? worried? why is it YOUR JOB? Well if you live close enough to each other, a true friend would go and see her face to face...No. 1...just to make sure she is ok...No.2 ... to ask why she hasn't contacted you...When you get the answer you will be able to work it out..........(Her safety should come first, so hurry over and check her out)!!.......good luck with it....
