I am a liberal and he is a conservative, so I probably don't agree on everything he stands for, but I approve of his stand on keeping the Constitution and the Bill of Rights intact, and his disapproval of the Patriot Acts. I was also impressed by the fact that Alex Jones supports him. However, I have to do a great deal more research before I can decide who I will support, and it has to be someone who has a chance of winning. I don't know if he is a viable candidate or not, it may be too early to tell.!!!

I agree with him on illegals
Hospitals bear the costs when illegal immigrants enter the country for the express purpose of giving birth. But illegal immigrants also use emergency rooms, public roads, and public schools. In many cases they are able to obtain Medicaid, food stamps, public housing, and even unemployment benefits. Some have fraudulently collected Social Security benefits.
They have a SS office open in Mexico City for the illegals to collect benefits...very sad that we cant control our borders
When it comes to Social Security and Medicare, the federal government simply won’t be able to keep its promises in the future. Problem with this is that the money should be there and not borrowed against.
To answer your question he is viable, but he needs to get on national talk shows so, more people will know his stance.

OK. But pardon me if I will quibble with the wording of your question'
Is Ron Paul a viable candidate? Sure.
Is he electable? Not in a million years.
Even as a libertarian Republican, he has not generated enough support to reach double-digit name recognition, much less the millions of dollars in campaign funds to put up a credible candidacy.

Ron Paul doesn't really have a chance to win the presidential election. However, he does have enough pull to effect the issues of debate.

Ralph Nader isn't viable, and people have actually heard of him. If you have to go looking on google for info on a candidate, you're cooked.
