Half my family only knows how to use the computer to check the weather and nothing more. I would like to know of a good program simular to weatherbug that WONT set off my spyware scanner, that will do the same or simular job. Any suggestions?

All of these websites for finding weather are great. Might I suggest a couple others, though:

http://www.wunderground.com/

Wunderground has a temperature-reading device, altimeter, etc. near your home, or whatever place you need the weather for, while The Weather Channel is based in Atlanta.

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/

Just give this one a try, too.

http://www.cnn.com/WEATHER/

Also, CNN is a pretty good site to find weather.

Like I said, all the other sites mentioned are great for finding weather on your computer. WeatherBug would probably be the easiest, as it is always on your desktop; plus, it doesn't have popups, spam, etc.

Hope that helps!

Just go to weather.com. Its the weather channel's website and is very easy to use.

It doesn't install anything at all, so it won't cause problems with spyware.

To make it easier to use, create a shortcut on your desktop. (right click on desktop somewhere, go to new, then shortcut.)

When it prompts you to enter location of the item, type in "www.weather.com". Click next, and change the shortcut name from "new internet shortcut" to something like "Check Weather."

The homepage gives you a box to put a zip code into. Type it in, click go, and then you have the weather information.

This will allow these people in your family to slowly get used to using a web browser as well, and eventually, they may be comfortable visiting other websites.

Mr. Ookami_Douketsu, you may download Yahoo! Widgets and setup it on your computer. There is one useful weather widget from Yahoo! to provide weather forecast information.

This application comsumes some memory and you need a internet access kept connected to the Internet (or at least once a day).

BEST REGARDS,
Jack

to add on to what mike said, you can make a link on your desktop by first
-GO TO WEATHER.COM
-TYPE YOUR CITY IN THE SEARCH
ONCE YOU GET TO THE WEATHER FOR YOUR CITY, GO UP TO THE ADDRESS BAR AND HIGHLIGHT THE ADDRESS
(make sure its the full address and you dont leave any parts out)
(should be some long thing starting with http://...)
-once the address is highlighted, right click copy
-go to your desktop, right click anywhere on desktop
-move mouse down to new, then shortcut
put the address in the location of item (by right clicking in box and clicking paste)
-name the shortcut whatever
presto you have a link to the updated weather in your city

PS-dont download weather programs they bog down your system
